The Thread of Thai Craft

Each room integrates the living workshop tradition of Thailand's artisan communities — Chiang Mai silk panels, hand-carved teak joinery, and Benjarong ceramic accessories — into a contemporary interior calibrated for absolute comfort. The Chao Phraya provides the geometry of the view; the room provides the stillness required to appreciate it.

Altaris Signature Suite

Your Private Quarters

The Altaris Suite represents the fullest expression of Ou Baholyodhin's design brief for Altaris Bangkok: a private riverside residence of extraordinary cultural depth and material precision. 205m² across the building's highest residential floor; a private garden terrace with direct river access; a royal Thai dining sala for ten whose teak carving was commissioned from the finest family workshop in Chiang Mai and took fourteen months to complete. The master bedroom's emperor bed faces the Chao Phraya; the master bathroom combines a walk-in stone shower with a freestanding copper soaking tub positioned above the river. A dedicated butler manages every element of the suite's operation, twenty-four hours a day.

Bangkok, Thailand

Where the River Holds the Memory of Ancient Courts.

Positioned above the Chao Phraya's most storied bend, Altaris Bangkok occupies a building where riverside commerce has always met cultural power. Interiors by Ou Baholyodhin integrate the workshop traditions of Chiang Mai — hand-woven silk, carved teak, Benjarong ceramics — into a contemporary framework of precise luxury. Below, the river carries the memory of courts, trading posts, and ancient kingdoms. The hotel is Bangkok's most refined articulation of all that history.

The River Residency

Bangkok rewards those who remain long enough to hear the city's quieter register. Five nights above the Chao Phraya provide the time to understand a city of extraordinary depth — its temple courts, floating markets, and private artisan workshops — delivered on your terms, at your pace.

Our Restaurants

The Ceremony of the Thai Table

The Thai kitchen has always understood the precision of balance — between heat and cool, sour and sweet, restrained and generous. Every dish at Altaris Bangkok honours these ancient calibrations while applying a modern intelligence born of access to the finest ingredients the kingdom produces.

  • Rim Naam

    • Thai

Rim Naam occupies Altaris Bangkok's riverside wing — its open terrace positioned directly above the Chao Phraya, where the evening light turns the water to bronze. Chef Arthit Somboon's contemporary Thai menu distils the kingdom's culinary landscape: the precise heat of a southern curry, the delicate perfume of a central Thai broth, the extraordinary freshness of Gulf seafood hours from the boat.

  • Sala Rim Nam

    • Royal Thai Cuisine

Positioned over the Chao Phraya River, Sala Rim Nam presents the refinement of Royal Thai culinary tradition. Head Chef Araya Sawang draws on the recipes and techniques of the court kitchen — the intricate curry pastes ground by hand, the cold-carved fruit garnishes, the balance of the five flavours that is the foundation of Thai gastronomy — and presents them with contemporary precision.

  • Chakra

    • Cocktail Bar & Lounge

On the twenty-third floor, Chakra offers an uninterrupted panorama of Bangkok's river delta and the city's skyline as it builds itself nightly in light. The bar programme draws from tropical botanical ingredients — kaffir lime leaf, galangal, lemongrass, tamarind, and the extraordinary range of Thai fruit — to produce cocktails that could only have been made in this specific place.
