The Ginza

The Ginza takes its name from the district whose position two streets east defines the room's approach to precision and finish. Nishijin silk wall coverings — hand-woven on traditional looms in a ground of warm ivory — enclose a room furnished entirely from Kyoto workshops: a king bed framed by bespoke bedside tables in lacquered keyaki and patinated iron, a writing desk with a reading lamp in hand-blown glass, a low bench positioned to face the courtyard. The Oya stone bathroom houses a walk-in rainfall shower and a freestanding deep hinoki soaking tub. Evening light falls across the stone courtyard below, quiet and particular in the way only Tokyo courtyards are.
