Kengo Kuma's design philosophy — the considered use of negative space, the integration of natural material, the suppression of the unnecessary — creates event environments of extraordinary atmospheric quality. A live performance in the Marunouchi Grand Salon; a private kumiodori theatre performance in the Akari Room; a sake ceremony followed by a kaiseki dinner for eighteen — each occasion is managed by a team whose instinct is to disappear into the fabric of the event, leaving only the experience itself.
