The Old Town

The Old Town suite is named for the quarter it faces — the Al Fahidi historic district, the oldest surviving part of Dubai, where the wind towers of the original merchant houses still define the most honest skyline in a city otherwise built on spectacle. The suite occupies 148m² on the seventh floor of the Creek-facing elevation. A terrace, cantilevered above the water's northern embankment, can be accessed directly from the principal salon — a room whose walls are dressed in hand-cut teak mashrabiya panels in a palette of warm honey and pale ivory. The book-lined study was furnished in collaboration with a Bastakiya antiquarian — twelve running metres of Arabic literature and Emirati heritage volumes, curated over two years. The master bedroom faces due east; the Calacatta Gold marble bathroom, due south, positions its freestanding soaking tub to face the Al Fahidi wind towers across the creek. A dedicated butler manages the suite throughout the day and night.
