The Gold Souk

The Gold Souk suite is a room that understands the beauty of transaction. On the eighth floor of the northern elevation, the principal salon's three floor-to-ceiling windows frame the illuminated arcade of the Gold Souk at close range — the glittering window displays, the arched roof of the covered souq, the warm amber streetlight catching the facades of the Deira at night. The ceiling of the salon is the suite's primary architectural statement: original hand-hammered brass panels — arabesque, geometric, and star motif — restored over eleven months by a specialist craftsman from Oman to their original polished finish. The walls are hung with antique gold trade weights, copper merchant seals, and calligraphy panels sourced from a Dubai auction over three years. The Calacatta Gold marble bathroom — warm veined stone against a floor of Verde Alpi — positions its freestanding soaking tub to face the window and the souq beyond. An oud in the salon, tuned monthly, is available for guests on request.
