Before the City, the Sand

Dubai's founding logic is the desert — its geometry, its silence, its extraordinary light at the hour before the sun clears the dune line. We leave the hotel at 04:30 in a private vehicle driven by a guide whose family has navigated this landscape for generations, arriving at the dune crest as the sky begins its transition from deep blue to the first amber of the Gulf dawn. What follows is an hour of walking with a Bedouin cultural guide, a hammam ritual at Hammam Altaris upon return, and a private Arabic breakfast prepared by the kitchen of Sufra — rose water, Omani honey, Gulf dates, and saffron karak chai served in the Majlis Room before the restaurant opens. This is Dubai before the architecture takes over.
