The Crown

The Crown occupies the entire twelfth floor of the Altaris Bangkok building — 240m² of interior, 60m² of wraparound terrace, and a horizon that no other address in the hotel can claim. The panorama extends 270 degrees: due west, the golden spires of the Grand Palace and Wat Arun's prang; to the south, the Chao Phraya at the great bend; northward, the Silom towers and the green expanse of Lumpini Park; east, the distant hills of Khao Yai on a clear morning. The wraparound terrace, planted with Thai orchids and white lotus in polished terracotta pots, encloses a private swimming pool in honed Kaen Kham sandstone — six metres long, heated year-round. The principal salon, its ceiling opened to expose the original teak roof structure, is the grandest room in the hotel: fifteen-metre ceiling height, original chamfered teak beams, and a stone altar fireplace. The master suite occupies the north wing; the second suite, the south. Both have independent dressing rooms and stone bathrooms. A staff room and butler's pantry are located off the service entrance. The suite has a private lift from the lobby. A dedicated team — butler, private chef, chauffeur — is assigned for the duration of each stay. The Crown is available by application only.
